On Tuesday 26 October, The King presented the New Entrepreneur of the Year awards at a ceremony at the Royal Palace.
The foundation behind the awards is the International Entrepreneur Association in Sweden (IFS). IFS was founded in 1996 to provide support to people with migrant backgrounds who want to start and operate businesses in Sweden. There are two categories of New Entrepreneur of the Year award: Start-Up and Pioneer.
Start-Up — Jangir Maddadi
The Start-Up category is awarded to a person with a foreign background who lives in Sweden and who has started a business in a short space of time using limited resources. This year's winner of the New Entrepreneur of the Year — Start-Up award was Jangir Maddadi with his company Design Bureau AB.
Pioneer — Ashkan Pouya
The Pioneer category is awarded to a person with a foreign background who has lived in Sweden for a longer period of time and who has succeeded through hard work in building up a growth company that is innovative within its industry. This year's winners of the New Entrepreneur of the Year — Pioneer award were Ashkan Pouya and Saeid Esmaeilzadhe with their company Serendipity Innovations AB. The award is sponsored by Investor, SEB and ALMI Företagspartner.
