On Wednesday 28 April, The King awarded diplomas to approximately 40 trained Scout youth leaders in the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace.
These diplomas are awarded within the framework of the Young Leadership Foundation.

Young Leadership

A foundation was set up ahead of The King's 60th birthday - King Carl XVI Gustaf's Young Leadership Foundation - the purpose of which was to promote leadership training for young people, based on the values expressed within the Scout Movement, through:
  • The presentation of scholarships to well-deserving young leaders for continued leadership training
  • Support to the Scout Movement's leadership training
  • Support to young people's development and training in leadership skills within trade and industry, the public sector and voluntary organisations.
