King and Queen begin state visit to Brazil

The King and Queen began a four-day state visit to Brazil on Tuesday 23 March.
The Swedish government is represented by Minister for Social Affairs Göran Hägglund, Minister for Defence Sten Tolgfors and State Secretary at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Gunnar Wieslander.
Chairman of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, Signhild Arnegård Hansen, is leading a Swedish business delegation to Brazil in connection with the state visit.
The visit began with a welcoming ceremony at Brasilia's military airport, and continued with a meeting with the Swedish business delegation.
In the evening, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife Marisa Leticia Lula da Silva hosted an informal dinner for the King and Queen at the presidential palace Alvorada.
