Royal National Day celebrations in Eskilstuna, Skänninge and Stockholm

On National Day this year, The King and Queen visited Eskilstuna to join in celebrations of the municipality's 350th anniversary, while The Crown Princess was in Skänninge, and Princess Madeleine opened the Open Palace event.
In Eskilstuna, The King and Queen participated in the National Day ceremony in Fristad Square. They then travelled by cortège to Muktellstaden, where The King opened the exhibition Ei Saa Peitää (Do Not Cover) at the Museum of Art.
The Crown Princess took part in National Day celebrations in the main square in Skänninge, and expressed her gratitude at being able to experience different parts of Sweden on this special day.

Princess Madeleine opened the Royal Palace and invited the general public in through the south gates to the strains of Swedish folk music. People flocked to the palace to listen to music, hear history talks, watch Manne the Clown, or see beautiful cars at the Royal Mews.
In the evening, the Royal Family travelled by cortège for the traditional National Day celebrations at Skansen. National Day ended with a tattoo at Logården.
