On Wednesday 26 August, Princess Madeleine opened Ronald McDonald House in Linköping. It is the fourth Ronald McDonald House in Sweden. The building will be able to house 14 families with sick children at the same time. It is located at the University Hospital, which has been rebuilt in order to provide coordinated treatment for children.
Ronald McDonald House offers a place to stay for families with a seriously ill child requiring specialist care a long way from home. Homely accommodation can then be combined with the security of being close to a hospital.
