King and Queen visit Salem municipality

On Tuesday 2 June, The King and Queen paid a visit to Salem municipality outside Stockholm.
The day began with a boat trip to Vällinge, where The King and Queen were greeted by Chairman of the local authority, Olle Glimvik.

At Vällinge, The King and Queen boarded Stockholm Public Transport's new ethanol hybrid bus, which took them around the municipality during the day. The bus is currently being test-driven on routes in Botkyrka.

Next The King and Queen visited Salem's church, and the company Rototest, which makes advanced testing equipment for drivelines in cars, known as chassis dynamometers. Afterwards, there was a visit to Nytorp School, where pupils put on a musical performance.

In the afternoon, a visit was paid to the nursery Galaxen, and Säbyhemmet for the elderly, as well as Söderby Park - a former sanatorium that is now a new district of Salem municipality. The visit ended in Skönvik Park at Rönninge centrum.
