On Tuesday 2 June, The Crown Princess presented the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award to this year's winner, the Tamer Institute for Community Education, at the Concert Hall in Stockholm.
The Tamer Institute for Community Education is an independent organisation that has been running reading programmes for children and young people on the West Bank and in Gaza since 1989. The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is for children's and young people's literature in the broadest sense of the word. Authors, illustrators, storytellers and reading projects can be awarded the prize.
