On Monday 28 September, The Crown Princess attended the Informal Meeting of EU Ministers of Defence in Gothenburg as part of the Swedish EU Presidency.
At the meeting, the ministers discussed sea surveillance, and whether the EU member countries can agree on the need for increased cooperation both internationally and between civil and military operators.

Discussions also focused on collaboration between civil and military operators in order to strengthen EU capacity within crisis management.

Another topic that arose was the deployment of battlegroups, an EU tool for crisis management, and how the member countries are to come to agreement on a more flexible use of them.

During the day, The Crown Princess also attended a demonstration of sea surveillance cooperation in the Baltic Sea region.
