Hundreds of people gathered in the Inner Courtyard of the Royal Palace to honour Prince Carl Philip on the occasion of his 30th birthday.

The Music Corps performed a short concert led by bandmaster Mats Janhagen, beginning with the march of the Värmland Regiment, by Carl Neumann. This was followed by 'Ack Värmeland du sköna' and Drum Salute 2009, written by the Music Corps' own drum major and drum major instructor, David Lindberg.

Since Prince Carl Philip is a captain in the Swedish Naval Forces, the concert ended with the Naval Forces' march past, “Regina Marsch," by Ernst Urbach.

The celebrations ended with a round of cheers and a fanfare.
