The Queen Opened Swedish Dementia Center

Queen Silvia opened Swedish Dementia Center, a national center of competence for dementia issues, in Stockholm on February 15th. Maria Larsson, the Minister for Elderly Care and Public Health, was also present. The National Board of Health and Welfare has appointed the Silviahemmet Foundation and the Stockholm Gerontology Research Center to form the new national center of competence. The task is to disseminate information and knowledge regarding the care of the elderly. The aim is to contribute to a higher quality in elderly care in all of Sweden. The Swedish government has granted 5 million SEK to the financing of the Center. l
