Lillgrund consists of 48 turbines, and is an important part of the Swedish energy company Vattenfall´s strategy to increase the generation of electricity from renewable sources. The Swedish Minister for Enterprise and Energy, Maud Olofsson also attended the opening.
During his visit to the city of Malmö, the King also participated in the 25th anniversary of the World Maritime University.
The King concluded his day in Southern Sweden by paying a visit to Ikaros AB, a company which in 2006 received the recognition as the “Company of the Year" founded by a newcomer to Sweden. Ikaros is a market leader in the sector of environmentally safe storage and handling of chemicals in the workplace.
