King awards “Settler of the Year" prize

On 13 October, The King attended the presentation of the “Settler of the Year" prize in the Bernadotte Library.

This year's winner was Rafet Mustafa and his company, Tigris Bilservice in Malmö. Rafet Mustafa was born in 1973, and came to Sweden from Iraq in 2001.

Tigris Bilservice EF was established in 2006 and offers services, fault-tracing as well as car repairs. The company has both corporate clients as well as individual customers.

Tigris Bilservice in Malmö has, based on conscious and painstaking preparation work, established and built up a company that is now in the middle of an exciting phase of development.

Settler of the Year Category B


One new aspect of this year´s award is Settler of the Year Category B. This mark of honour was awarded to Remziye Inanc, Järva Tolk AB, Stockholm. Remziye Inanc came to Sweden in 1982 as the single mother of four young children. After working for eight years as a nurse, she became unemployed. Remziye then decided to train and work as an interpreter. She started up the company Järva Tolk AB in 1996.

This year's recipients of the award have something in common in that the founders of both companies, despite coming to Sweden at different times, were quick to show initiative when finding themselves unemployed by starting up their own companies.
