Crown Princess presents “Swedish-American of the Year" Award

On 12 August, Crown PrincessVictoria presented the “Swedish-American of the Year" Award to Sweden ´s Consul-General in San Francisco, Barbro Osher.

The Swedish-American cultural association, Vasa Orden av Amerika, has been handing out the "Swedish-American of the Year" Award since 1960 to pay tribute to the contributions of Swedish emigrants in America. The winner of the Award has either been involved in Swedish-American cultural exchanges, or made an outstanding contribution to American society during their career.

Previous recipients of the honorary title include 1951 winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Dr Glenn T. Seaborg, astronaut Edwin Aldrin, and actor Signe Hasso.
