On October 30 The King presented "H.M. The King Carl XVI Gustaf Award for Settler of the Year."

The distinction went to Besim Akdogan and the award ceremony took place in the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace.

The “Settler of the Year" award was founded in 1999 by IFS (an organization helping immigrants to establish themselves in Sweden´s business world) and is presented every year.  The award is meant to inspire and show that people in Sweden, with foreign backgrounds, can succeed in establishing their own businesses.
