The King and The Queen Participate in Theme Day Focusing on Wage Negotiations

On the 28th and 29th of November The King and The Queen took part in a theme day focusing on wage negotiations. The theme day, which took place over the course of two half days, began Wednesday afternoon with a visit to LO-borgen (The Swedish Trade Union Confederation´s headquarters) in central Stockholm. There they met with representatives from Sweden´s labor unions.

Meeting with LO, TCO and SACO

At LO-borgen The King and The Queen met with, amongst others, LO´s President Wanja Lundby-Wedin, Marie-Louise Strömgren from SACO (The Swedish Confederation of Professional Associations) as well as Sture Nordh from TCO (The Swedish Confederation for Professional Employees).

During their visit The King and The Queen were given information about the different trade unions´ negotiation systems, reflections on this year´s wage negotiations, as well as a presentation of the history of, and thoughts on, the Swedish model.

Visit to Confederation of Swedish Enterprise

The day after The King and The Queen were given information from the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (representing Sweden´s employers). They were welcomed by the organizations chairman, Signhild Arnegård-Hansen.

Director General Urban Bäckström and Deputy General Managers Jan-Peter and Larsson informed The King and The Queen about the latest wage negotiations.

For several years now The King and The Queen have been participating in theme days, studying and focusing on special topics. Previous theme days have focused on many different topics including the forest industry, public health, alternative fuels and integration.
