State Visit to Austria

On Thursday, The King and Queen ended their state visit to Austria.

The day began with a visit to the state of Burgenland and Eisenstadt where The King and The Queen visited Esterhazy Palace. A concert was held at the palace, after which Their Majesties toured the state rooms.

After the visit to Esterhazy Palace the Landeshauptman (governor) of Burgenland hosted a luncheon.

After lunch there was a visit and guided tour of the Neusiedler See national park. Neusiedler See is Austria´s largest lake and the area is classified on UNESCO´s world heritage list.

The visit to Burgenland ended with a visit to the Kracher Vineyard in Ilmitz. The region surrounding Neusiedler See is known for its vineyards,  most of which are located inside the national park.

The state visit to Austria ended with a farewell ceremony at Vienna-Schwechat Airport.
