Princess Madeleine Attends Solheim Cup

On Sunday, September 16, Princess Madeleine attended the Solheim Cup golf competition in Halmstad.

While at the Solheim Cup The Princess visited the competition area as well as took part in the presentation of the Solheim Cup Trophy.

At a special ceremony at the Halmstad Golf Club, the chairman for the municipal council of Halmstad Lars Roland Broström and chairman for Halmstad 700 AB Liselotte Svensson presented a check to the World Childhood Foundation, represented by Princess Madeleine.

At the time of the presentation the exact result of the collection drive was not known, but the check guaranteed a minimum amount of 100,000 SEK. Later in the day it was made known that the exact amount that would be donated to Childhood would be 108,738 SEK.

Martin Franzén, who originally came up with the idea for the charity drive, also participated at the check presentation ceremony.
