Crown Princess Victoria handed over the 2007 Prince Eugen´s Cultural Prize to the Swedish singer Sofia Jannok and the Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang Bjaerke in Stockholm City Hall on December 18th. The winners receive 50 000 SEK each.

Prince Eugen´s Cultural Prize was instituted in 2005, commemorating the centennial celebration of the end of the union between Norway and Sweden in 1905.

The Swedish Prince Eugen (1865-1947), an artist himself, worked all his life actively for Swedish-Norwegian relations. He supported both younger and older artists, had many friends in literary circles and was very intersted in music.
