Children and young people had a true friend in Princess Lilian.

For many years she took great interest in the work of SOS Children's Villages Sweden. This organisation aims to provide a home, a childhood and an education to children who have lost their parents.
 
Princess Lilian often took part in various fundraising events in support of SOS Children's Villages and also visited projects run by the organisation abroad.
