In December 2003 The Prince designed a cover for the CD of music from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker that was distributed in conjunction with The Queen's birthday.
The Prince loves nature and enjoys spending time outdoors. He was a Scout in his younger years. He is interested in sports and when time permits he enjoys motor sports.
The Prince is also a skilled skier and sailor. He skied his first Vasa Cross-Country Ski Race in 2004, which he completed in 6 hours, 21 minutes and 52 seconds, beating The King's record from 1987. As patron of the Volvo Ocean Race, The Prince participated in this competition in autumn 2005.
Prince Carl Philip has a keen interest in motor sports and holds a Swedish Motor Sport Association racing licence. In the summer of 2005 he made his racing debut in a go-cart competition in Stockholm.
The Prince also holds a hunting licence and enjoys participating in the Royal Hunts.
