The Royal Court

Information and Press Department

This department coordinates mass media contacts and information. The department receives many requests from Swedish and foreign media, researchers and the general public about the Royal Family´s official programme and the royal palaces.

The department consists of an Information Director, two Information Secretaries and two Information Assistants.

The department is also responsible for the Royal Court's website.

Mass Media management


In conjunction with larger events such as state visits and official journeys abroad the department often administrates media-related arrangements in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The Information and Press Department also supports the organizer at major events in which The King and Queen or a member of the Royal Family is participating. Support provided includes advise and assistance with media management. This type of support is also provided at exhibitions, concerts or other major Royal events both in and outside the Royal Palace.
