Each year The King and Queen visit a large number of organisations and societies in Sweden, both State and local. They also represent Sweden abroad.

State visits occur when a country has a new Head of State who comes to visit the Swedish monarch.

Official visits occur when the foreign Head of State has already made a State visit.

The Royal tour of Sweden known as Eriksgatan is an old tradition. The new King travels around Sweden and gets to know his country and people.
 
Since 1988, The King and Queen pay visits to the municipalities of Stockholm province.
