The aim of the State Visit is to deepen and intensify the already excellent relations between the two neighbouring countries. Sweden and Finland enjoy very close and broad cooperation in all areas of society, and are also close in the EU and on Nordic issues.
Sweden and Finland also take a very active part in cooperation in our region, including in the Advisory Council for Baltic Sea Cooperation, the Barents Euro-Arctic Council and the Arctic Council.
The programme includes meetings with the Speaker of the Riksdag Per Westerberg and Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.
