The Royal Palace of Stockholm shows the greatest growth of all Swedish tourist attractions
The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth recently released new figures for visits to Swedish tourist attractions. The Royal Palace of Stockholm rose from 20th place to 15th, with an increase of more than 160,000 visits, or 23%. This is the highest increase of all tourist attractions in Sweden for 2010.
Margareta Nisser Dalman, Head of Visitor Activities, had the following to say about the increase:
"This is due to a combination of several factors, particularly the publicity generated by The Crown Princess Couple's wedding last year. We have noticed that more and more people want to find out more about our shared cultural heritage. This is also the third year running that our visitor figures have risen. Many people come back year after year, which is extremely pleasing."
