The Swedish government will be represented by Minister for Social Affairs, Göran Hägglund. Chairman of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, Signhild Arnegård Hansen, is leading a Swedish business delegation to Brazil in connection with the state visit.
On 24 March, the programme will include a visit to the Supreme Court, the National Congress, an official meeting including lunch with President Lula da Silva, as well as a meeting at the Ministry of Justice on the Brazilian Forest Peoples Programme.
On 25-26 March the state visit will continue in São Paulo and São José dos Campos, with a visit to the Swedish church, a seminar on strengthening industrial and technological cooperation between Brazil and Sweden, and visits to several companies.
The programme will also include a seminar on human trafficking and sexual exploitation, as well as a meeting on corporal punishment. The state visit will end on the afternoon of 26 March.
