The Crown Princess meets with Muhammad Yunus

On Friday 9 December, The Crown Princess held an audience with Professor Muhammad Yunus, who was awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize. The Crown Princess and Professor Yunus are members of the Sustainable Development Goals Advocacy Group for Agenda 2030.

Professor Yunus and The Crown Princess are two of 16 international advocates in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Advocacy Groupexternal link, opens in new window. The group's task is to promote the UN's sustainable development goals – Agenda 2030 – in various ways.

Professor of Economics Muhammad Yunus from Bangladesh and Grameen Bank were awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prizeexternal link, opens in new window for their work to create a microcredit system to combat poverty.

Professor Yunus was invited to this year's Nobel weekexternal link, opens in new window, and took part in discussions on the theme of Your Plate – Our Planet: The Future of Food. During the meeting, students, experts and researchers discussed how to create sustainable food production in the future.
