Prince Carl Philip attends the preparations for the Bocuse d'Or

On Tuesday 13 December, Prince Carl Philip attended the tasting of the competition menu for the Bocuse d'Or world chef championship 2017. The Prince is patron of the Swedish Bocuse d'Or Academy.

Sweden's representative in the Bocuse d'Or Alexander Sjögren prepared the menu in the same time as during the competition: 5 hours and 35 minutes.

The main ingredients are decided on by the Bocuse d'Or. This time, the tray dish consists of Bresse Chicken and shellfish. A completely vegan dish will also be presented for the first time, based on fruit, vegetables, cereals, seeds and legumes. No dairy products or egg may be used in the vegan dish.

The Bocuse d'Or in Lyon, 24-25 January 2017

The Bocuse d'Or is the world's most prestigious culinary competition for chefs. The competition was started in 1987 by celebrity chef Paul Bocuse. The competition is held every other year in Lyon.

The next Bocuse d'Or competition will take place on 24 and 25 January 2017, and marks the 30th anniversary of the event, which is also known as the World Chef Championship.

L'Académie Suédoise de Bocuse d'Or was founded in 1990 by Sven-Gunnar Svensson to deal with and take responsibility for Sweden's participation in the Bocuse d'Or. The Swedish Bocuse d'Or Academy is part of Gastronomi Sverige.
