The Queen receives an award at a German charity gala

On Saturday 6 December, The Queen received an award in recognition of her work for children's rights. 

The award was presented during a gala that was broadcast live on TV, at which singer Harry Belafonte also won an award for his efforts for children.

The Queen was recognised for her work to create the World Childhood Foundationexternal link, opens in new window, which is now 15 years old and runs more than a hundred projects around the world.
