The students have been presenting the Royal Palace with Christmas trees every year since the end of the 1960s. The trees that were donated include two Norway spruce and two King's spruce. The King's spruce was given is current name after the tradition of giving Christmas trees to the Royal Family. Its original name is the Nordman spruce. The trees come from just outside Lund in Skåne, and from Österlen, and have been growing for seven years to reach their current size.
