The King and Queen arrived at Östra Ryd church in Österåker municipality in the morning and were met by County Governor Per Unckel. Vicar Jan Bonander showed them Östra Ryd church's unique art collection. Afterwards The King and Queen travelled to Österskär's bathing area where they were met by a welcoming committee of children from Österskär School, who presented them with flowers. The King and Queen were then taken by boat to Linanäs on the island of Ljusterö. Urban Nordin from Ljusterö Torg spoke about archipelago life together with children from Ljusterö School, and a performance was given by court singer Lena Nordin. Following this The King and Queen were invited on a helicopter ride, during which they were given a guided tour of the municipality by pilot Anders Bernlind.
Before lunch The King and Queen also visited the day centre Sågen, which provides activities for adults with disabilities.
The King and Queen ate lunch at Sjökarby School. They were served the menu that won Österåker's school cooks the School Food Gastro Award in 2008.
During the afternoon The King and Queen are to visit Avtech, a company that is leading the way in green approaches for aircraft, which reduce carbon dioxide emissions considerably.
