Torsdagen den 23 februari sände Kungen kondoleanstelegram till Argentinas president Dra. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner med anledning av tågkatastrofen i Buenos Aires.
Innehållet var som följer:

I am deeply shocked to learn of the terrible tragedy and loss of life caused by the train accident in Buenos Aires yesterday morning. The Queen and I wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to you, Madam President, to the bereaved families and to the people of Argentine.
